What You Can Get

What It's About

The Social and Human Services curriculum prepares students for entry-level positions in institutions and agencies that provide social, community and behavioral health services. Along with core courses, students take courses that prepare them for specialization in specific human service areas.

Courses You'll Take

Coursework includes the development of professional knowledge, skills and values in human services. Opportunities for experiential learning allow students to apply knowledge and skills learned in the classroom.

What You'll Gain

Graduates should qualify for positions in government, private and nonprofit social and human services agencies. Graduates may choose to transfer and continue their education at a variety of colleges and universities.

The Social and Human Services program provides a blended learning approach that combines both traditional ways of teaching via virtual labs and online through a series of online educational materials and interactive activities. Please note that those who are pursuing the AAS degree will complete an in-person internship in their last semester. Please see courses specifically for which classes are offered in these ways.

Technology Awareness
A level of technological awareness and access to a laptop or computer is necessary to function effectively for all courses in the program. All courses have online components to include but are not limited to using word processing programs such as Microsoft Office or Google Docs, navigating the internet and websites, downloading and accessing documents and programs on the computer, and utilizing virtual software such as Zoom
