The Bushcraft/Fieldcraft Series is intended to introduce participants to the joys of “life in the wild!!” Participants will learn basic skills necessary to survive and thrive in the wilderness. Whether for sheer enjoyment or out of necessity, the ability to function in an austere environment is a great skillset to possess. Instruction will include: land navigation without a GPS or phone, map reading, using a compass, survival gear selection, EDC setup, edible and medicinal plants, animal tracking, trapping, building expedient shelters, fire-craft, field first-aid, and water purification.
NOTE: Participants will meet in a classroom at the college and then travel to designated locations. There are 2 class dates to choose from: June 25 is Foraging & Trapping; September 20 will be a Friday evening class for Primitive Camping (overnight in Southmont, NC).
You may attend all 3 class sessions or pick and choose.
