Davidson-Davie Community College will open its aquarium to the public on three exclusive days in April. Aquarium Days are the perfect family outing and will give visitors a first-hand look at the Davidson-Davie aquarium, animals, and facilities. This one-of-a-kind event is also beneficial for anyone interested in learning more about the Zoo and Aquarium Science program Davidson-Davie offers. Aquarium Days are free and open to the public.
Aquarium viewing times are:
• Tuesday, April 10th 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
• Thursday, April 12th 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
• Saturday, April 14th 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
The Davidson-Davie aquarium allows visitors to explore the Indo-Pacific reef, meet Melvin the pufferfish, and learn about many fascinating creatures. The aquarium is located on the Davidson Campus. Current Davidson-Davie students enrolled in the Zoo and Aquarium Science program will be on hand to discuss and answer questions about the exotic terrestrial and aquatic animals. These animals include tarantulas, scorpions, lobsters, sharks, albino axolotls, upside-down jellyfish, a trained puffer, a ball python, and a Honduran milk snake.
These events are great for all ages and offer a unique learning experience. For more information, contact David Ring at 336-249-8186 x 6435.
