October 7, 2019 – The Davie campus of Davidson County Community College will host a Job Fair on Wednesday, Oct. 16. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in its Community Building at 1205 South Salisbury St. in Mocksville. It is free and open to the public.
Over 30 employers representing a broad range of industries is expected for the Job Fair. These include companies such as Ashley Furniture, Ingersoll Rand,
Cardinal Innovations Healthcare, First Choice Personnel, Jockey International, UPS and Wake Forest Baptist Health.
“This event gives Davie residents the chance to directly connect with local employers needing skilled job candidates,” Davie Connect Director Carolyn McManamy said. “We’re bringing the best local employers together so finding job opportunities, or discovering opportunities previously unknown to job seekers, can be accessed in real-time with company representatives. These employers can’t wait to meet their future workforce.”
The event will also feature the Mobile Career Center from the Piedmont Triad Regional Council. The Mobile Career Center is available to Job Fair participants prior to entering the fair. Career counselors will be on hand to help job seekers enhance and print out their resumes on the spot at no cost.
PTRC serves as a partner to DCCC for the event.
“This Job fair showcases the best of Davie,” Susan Burleson, DCCC’s vice president of Davie Campuses and Institutional Effectiveness, said. “Not only does it showcase the immense opportunity and success of our local industries and businesses, but the vibrancy, talent and skills of our workforce.”
DCCC admissions will also be on hand at the Job Fair. Enrollment specialists will be available for those interested in learning about different career pathways, short-term programs and offerings to gain job skills and steps to enroll at the college.
