Completion Information for Faculty
Completion Coaches assist students with navigating through their challenges at Davidson-Davie. Students and Coaches work together to develop creative strategies to address academic concerns and life challenges. The one-on-one coaching sessions are designed to educate students about college-wide resources and develop personal plans to address each student’s particular needs. That connection continues growing as we teach our students about the many resources available.
They provide individualized support to help students address academic and non-academic challenges and connect students with appropriate campus and community resources.
Not all students have a Completion Coach. Coaches are assigned to students for the remainder of their journey at the college to support and help them reach their highest academic and life success.
Completion Coaches act similarly to Academic Advisors without advising students on course selection and course registration. If students have questions about what courses to enroll in or take to complete a degree program, the Academic Advisor should be contacted.
Yes. Completion coaches will provide professional development opportunities for Faculty centered on retention and student engagement. Completion coaches will help serve as a liaison between students and faculty as well as a point of contact for faculty providing information regarding available campus resources.
